Jesse Corburn is excited to return as Uncommon Collegiate’s principal. Mr. Corburn began his teaching career in 2003 as a member of Teach for America in New York City, where he taught history and English at Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics in East Harlem. After teaching in Harlem, Mr. Corburn moved to the Bay Area, California and was a founding history teacher at a brand new KIPP high school: KIPP King Collegiate. Mr. Corburn became the assistant principal of instruction at KIPP King and helped to prepare the first graduating class for college. In 2011, Mr. Corburn moved back to New York with his family to become a principal fellow with Uncommon Schools and start Uncommon Collegiate.
